Many of us are familiar with these famous words written by William Shakespeare centuries ago, yet today their eternal value and deeper meaning seem to be lost and they serve only as an empty phrase that we like to quote.
When questioned about the actual significance of these words of wisdom, most of us would probably reply that they are self explanatory- we should be true to who we are in all that we do. But let us delve deeper into their connection with the spiritual laws of Creation.
The law of sowing and reaping is necessary to understand if we want to truly comprehend why we find ourselves in our present situations, where true justice prevails and how we can become happier, healthier and more productive human beings. What goes around, comes around, therefore the seeds of our thoughts, words and deeds that we plant can always and only bear the fruit of our intentions.
We all know about the physical law of gravity. If we throw a ball into the air, it will come back down because of its density in comparison to the atmosphere. On the other hand, steam will rise because it is lighter. But this same law can be applied to human beings as well, in the spiritual sense. When we burden ourselves with dark thoughts, unkind words and misdeeds our spirit becomes heavier. But if we keep our thoughts pure, speak only in truth and out of conviction and strive to keep our actions noble, then we lighten our spirit. After physical death, the “weight” of our soul will determine whether we rise to more Luminous heights or sink into darker regions.
The third law of creation is one that is very popular today due to many books and popular television shows that have recently portrayed it in a variety of fashions. It is the law of attraction or as the saying goes ``like attracts like``. It is not hard to see this manifesting in the material world and is the basis of much discussion today. We can easily observe this law at work, for example, when a group of people congregate for a special event. They will quickly and naturally divide into groups of individuals that share similar interests, i.e. sports fans with sports fans, nature loves with nature lovers, etc. Therefore many individuals have deducted from this that we can attract positive outcomes in our lives by changing our negative attitudes into positive ones. But this only holds true if we adhere to the other two laws. Their workings and interconnections are manifold. Consequently the law of attraction has a more profound significance in the spiritual sense. Once again, when physical death occurs the law of attraction also determines where we will find ourselves. People with the same spiritual gravity due to their thoughts, words and deeds will be drawn to the same plane. Thus lighter, good souls will be surrounded by similar souls and heavier, darker souls will find themselves in a like environment.
Knowing and understanding these three basic laws of Creation is essential for our evolution. They provide us with everything we need in order to mature and to find true freedom and inner peace. And when we put them into practice the wise words ``unto thine own self be true`` become a great support to us. We can only be true to ourselves and be true human beings in every sense of the word by living our lives within the laws of Creation.
