Many of us have often heard the popular expression «Smile and the whole world smiles with you». And we usually do smile when we hear this spoken. But can we actually help the rest of the world to smile, especially today with all of the chaos on our planet? The answer to this question is yes.
In our articles we have often spoken of the law of reaping and sowing and given our readers numerous examples of how this law governs our lives, our destiny, our karma, etc. In fact, it is one of the laws of Creation that most people understand best because of the inexhaustible illustrations we can give in order to explain it. Yet at the same time most human beings find it difficult to put their knowledge to use in every day life.
Why should we smile today? What is there to smile about? The physical world seems to be falling apart at the seams. There is one catastrophe after another, assailing our planet as well as our private lives. There is much illness, anxiety, depression, confusion and a general sense of doom. Many individuals might say: «Give me one good reason to smile». I will try and give you a few.
In spite of the gathering storm clouds, the sun still manages to shine. It still warms and delights our senses when it is in the sky. It helps our flowers, trees, and plants to grow. Its energy invigorates us and makes us feel good. We could smile at the sun.
Snow and rain are also needed to maintain equilibrium in our water supplies that in turn supports all life on earth. Without precipitation we would not survive. We could smile at the snow and rain.
The clear night sky is still filled with stars, constellations and the changing cycles of the moon. When we gaze upwards in the evening, after a long day of work, it helps us to feel connected to the cosmos, to perceive its vastness and the greatness of our Creator. We could smile at the night sky.
In each of our own personal lives, there are probably countless opportunities to smile. A new project begins, a child’s laughter, a problem solved, overcoming an illness, or just a kind smile in passing a stranger on the street.
There is no circumventing the natural laws. We will always reap what we sow. So by a simple smile everyday you will indeed help the whole world to start smiling and when we are smiling we are not thinking about negative things. Therefore we are sowing goodness and will reap in kind. When we smile at the world, at our fellow human beings, we are really helping ourselves to evolve. Now that is something to smile about! Try it- it is free and everyone smiles in the same language!
